Are You Ready – Do You Have a Plan?
10/27/20 - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 21
One of the most important elections of our lifetime is only a week away.  All IBEW 21 members need to exercise their right to vote.  Some IBEW 21 contracts have provisions allowing employees time to vote.  Plan your vote by checking your contract’s voting language.  You may be saying that the National Election in your State has already been decided. Don’t let that thought prevent you from voting. There are many down ballot races that can affect you and your family. IBEW 21 COPE Director Dennis McCafferty has said many times, “…down ballot politicians need to get their start somewhere, they use these entry positions, even as dog catcher as a springboard to get elected into higher positions. We must slam the door shut early on wannabees who are out to destroy your Union job that provides your wages, benefits and retirement that you and your family are counting on…”

Oct. 22, 2020  | COMMENTARY | Recessions always inflict the most pain on Americans in the middle and lower end of the income distribution range, destroying jobs, eroding wages, and wiping out savings for those working in industries such as construction, manufacturing, hospitality, and retail.
AMFA Statement: TWU/IAM Scare Tactics and Lobbying
    10/22/20 - AMFA

October 22, 2020 -- In an effort to scare its membership into remaining members of a poorly run union, the TWU/IAM Association is trying to play up their clout in Washington D.C. while de-emphasizing AMFA’s contributions and their importance to the aircraft mechanic and related maintenance workers’ class and craft. There is no doubt that the IAM and TWU parent organizations spend considerable resources maintaining offices in and around Washington, D.C. They often lobby on behalf of their membership, but how much of that lobbying and money spent is actually for the aircraft mechanic and related?
